Who we are

Information we collect
Through our candidate application, we collect identifiers and contact details, professional and employment information, résumé contents, and role, location, availability and compensation preferences. Through our household enquiry, we collect contact details and information about household staffing needs, timing, location and messages you choose to provide.
Why we collect it
We use this information for recruitment, matching candidates to prospective employer households, and communicating about roles or our services. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who receives it
We may share relevant candidate information with a prospective employer household, with the candidate’s knowledge, before an introduction. Service providers receive information where needed to support us. These include our website host, Netlify, which stores form submissions, and Google Analytics, which provides aggregated usage information when enabled.
Background checks
Background checks happen only with separate written consent after a conditional offer. They are performed through a consumer reporting agency under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (ICRAA).
Retention
We keep applications for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires us to retain them longer.
California privacy rights
California residents may have the right to know about personal information we collect, request deletion or correction, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and exercise these rights without discrimination. To make a request, email info@handgraafestates.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Analytics cookies
When enabled, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to help us understand aggregated site usage. You can limit cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Children
Our services and this site are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the revised notice here and update its effective date.
